These Terms of Use apply to tibetancommunity.ca (“the site”), run by Tibetan Community. By using the site or creating an account, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
A volunteer initiative. Tibetan Community is a volunteer-run initiative for the good of the community. It is not run for profit, and we do not charge fees or earn money from listings. You use the site, and deal with other users, at your own discretion and risk.
Who can use the site
- You must be 18 or older to create an account.
- Give accurate information and keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- One person, one account. Businesses and organizations may have one account each.
What the site is
The site is a free community notice board. We do not own, rent, sell, inspect or guarantee any room, property, item, service or job listed. Agreements are made directly between users. Always check details yourself before paying or signing anything.
Posting
- Every new listing, and every change to a live listing, is reviewed by our admin before it appears. We may approve, ask for changes, or reject any listing.
- Listings must follow our Posting Rules and Canadian law, including human rights laws.
- Listings appear for 30 days and can be renewed.
- You keep ownership of what you post. You give us permission to display, store and share it on the site and our community channels (for example Facebook or WhatsApp) while it is listed.
Contacting other users
- Contact details are shown only to signed-in members.
- Use other users’ contact details only to discuss their listing. Spam, harassment or collecting contact details for other purposes is not allowed.
Not allowed
- Scams, fake listings, or asking for payment or deposits before a viewing.
- Discrimination, hate, harassment or threats.
- Illegal goods or services, adult content, weapons, drugs, or counterfeit items.
- Posting someone else’s personal information without their permission.
- Trying to break, overload or misuse the site, or creating accounts automatically.
Our rights
We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close accounts that break these terms, without notice if needed to protect users.
Disclaimer and liability
The site is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for listings, user conduct, or any loss arising from dealings between users. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
Changes
We may update these terms. We will post changes on this page and update the date above.
